Navigating the Crisis Through an Equity Lens

The national and local housing and homelessness crisis continues to deepen – yet all communities are not impacted equally. Subpopulations such as survivors of DV, formerly incarcerated individuals, seniors, immigrants, LGBTQ+ people and others face unique barriers to stable housing. At the same time, shifting federal policies and funding priorities are reshaping how agencies respond on the ground.
The session brings together leaders from orgs that work directly with these historically underserved groups to share how they are navigating the current federal landscape to ensure equitable access to housing for all.

MightyStream Anders, Hope Thru Navigation: Since 2004, MightyStream has been a strong advocate for the 12-step recovery community, helping countless individuals achieve successful reintegration into society. She has directly assisted over 100 people in finding housing. Focusing on those who are displaced or unhoused. With degrees in Biblical Studies (Kenya), International Studies, Communications, Organizational Management, and Consulting, she is also a PhD candidate in Criminology. Currently, she serves as the director of Housing for the Recovery and Resiliency Trauma Center of HOPE, an initiative providing safe housing for men returning from prison. Her prior roles as Community Chaplain for the Oregon Department of Corrections involved active participation in their re-entry program. With 32 years of personal recovery experience, she has also traveled to India, Africa, and Mexico, working with orphans, street youth, and prisoners in need of housing. MightyStream believees that “HOPE changes everything and everyone it touches.” and she is dedicated to guiding the unhoused towards that hope. She hosts the podcast H.O.O.D. (Hope Offered On Demand) Recovery Services, producing two episodes daily for over 1,000 subscribers. Teaching and counseling are her true passions.
